do I need my numbers for the HQ?
When you take the health questionnaire (HQ), you'll be asked to provide your personal numbers. You don't need all of these numbers to take the health questionnaire or participate in the program, but you'll receive a more comprehensive result if you do.
When you take the WebMD health questionnaire (HQ), you'll be asked to provide your personal numbers, including your lab tests, so it's a good idea to have them ready. You don't need all of these numbers to take the health questionnaire or participate in the program, but you'll receive a more comprehensive result if you do. You’ll be asked to provide the following numbers:
- Height (without shoes)
- Weight (without shoes)
- Waist circumference
- Blood pressure
- Cholesterol (total, LDL, HDL, triglycerides)
- Blood glucose (blood sugar)
You can even provide them later after you've already started participating. If you've had a blood test to screen for your cholesterol and glucose within the past year, you can use those results in your health questionnaire. If it's been over a year since you've had a blood test, consider scheduling an appointment to get your up-to-date numbers.
Here are some ideas to get your numbers checked:
- Some locations, but not all, occasionally sponsor health fairs or screening events that provide the opportunity to get these blood tests done on-site. You will be notified about local Know Your Numbers health screening events associated with the Healthy You program.
- Visit your physician and ask for an exam that includes the biometric information mentioned above.
- Check with your local Human Resources or medical department for the resources available to you.
